Redesigned '60s Aviators.

Genuine water buffalo horn entirely handmade in Italy. Standard measurements as seen in the picture.

From the moment you order it will take our artisan roughly 30 days to make your frames. You will be contacted to finalize the details. The measurements we show are to be interpreted as the standard Medium size ones. Each pair is bespoke, you will choose the overall size, the color of the frames (brown or black for this model) and we will provide different color lenses for you to choose from. Possibility of engraving your initials.

From Greek λιος: “sun” τρέπειν “to turn”, is a variety of prase (a translucent, greenish variety of chalcedony) considered to hold legendary powers such as reflecting the sun light or granting invisibility. Such properties are what we somehow demand from a pair of sunglasses: to reverberate the dazzling cone of light and to hide our inner gaze from people around us. In 1350 Giovanni Boccaccio wrote the novel “Calandrino e l’elitropia” in which three friends go on to the banks of river Mugnone to look for that stone. The place in Florence where this scene took place  has been later entitled to Giovanni Boccaccio (and the small streets surrounding it, to Calandrino and his friends) which is also the very street where Peplor headquarter stands. Have we found the stone? We’ve definitely found inspiration.

Each pair of PEPLOR's Genuine Horn Eyewear comes with not just one, but two beautifully crafted cases. A hard leather case that provides protection during travels, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship. As part of the overall process of the case finalisation the vegetal tanned leather requires a 25 days mould setting around a wooden last, intricately crafted by our skilled wood carver. The result is a perfectly contoured case that is completely seamless, with no need for any stitches. Each case is a unique work of art, as the natural variations in the leather and the hand-crafted process ensure that no two cases are exactly the same. The second is a soft leather case that easily fits into your pocket. Both cases are handmade in Florence, Italy, using only the highest quality cowhide leather to ensure that your eyewear is protected in style.
